The song of farewell rises gracefully again, as the students move forward.

On June 18th, Xiangtan Institute of Technology held its 2025 graduation ceremony, with 2,968 undergraduate graduates of the Class of 2025 donning academic caps and receiving the tassel-turning ceremony one by one.From this moment on, they have officially completed their four-year undergraduate studies and will embark on new journeys in life.

This year, Xiangtan Institute of Technology, along with three other undergraduate universities under the Geely Holding Group—Geely University, Sanya University, and Xiangsihu College of Guangxi Minzu University (Nanning Digital Science and Technology College (preparatory))—simultaneously held a graduation ceremony themed "Forward! Forward! Forward!" through  Cloud-based connections. The ceremony was also broadcast online with four research, manufacturing, and operation units under Geely,including Geely Automobile Research Institute, Lynk & Co Auto Chengdu Plant, Geely Xiangtan Manufacturing Plant, and Hangzhou Lynk & Co Club. This showcased Geely's "Three Campuses" concept of cross-border, cross-regional, and parallel campuses, demonstrated innovative practices of deep collaboration to create a new ecosystem of industry-education integration, and vividly interpret the "Geely Model" of seamless integration between the education chain, talent chain, and industrial chain.

Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Holding Group, attended the graduation ceremony at Geely University in Chengdu and delivered a speech.He pointed out that Geely's educational institutions have always adhered to the implementation guidelines of "practicality, practice, and capability," carrying out educational and teaching reforms based on the actual conditions of the schools, enhancing students' practical abilities through a practical teaching system, and relying on high-quality industry-education integration to improve the schools' educational outcomes and institutional strength. He encouraged graduates from the four undergraduate universities to embark on new learning and social practices with passion and confidence; to further study and understand national conditions, societal dynamics and public needs; to seek their personal growths and development opportunities in a pragmatic and context-sensitive approach; and to maintain a positive attitude and firm belief no matter the difficulties and setbacks they encounter, always moving forward and never giving up.

Since entering the automotive industry in 1997, Geely has been committed to running educational institutions for non-profit purposes, adhering to industry-education integration, and upholding integrity and innovation.

It has integrated talent cultivation into campus and extended it across the industrial chain, while continuously exploring a personalized education system tailored to "So many men, so many minds." Over the past three decades, Geely has invested over 10 billion yuan in the education sector, cultivated and provided nearly 200,000 talents for society. It has established a multi-level vocational talent training pathway from secondary and higher vocational education to applied undergraduate programs and further to specialized postgraduate education.It also has delivered a large number of outstanding talents for the automotive industry, and has formed a characteristic model of deep integration between higher education and industry.

As a university under the Geely Holding Group, in recent years, Xiangtan Institute of Technology has fully leveraged Geely's resources and industrial strengths, comprehensively promoted project-based educational and teaching reforms, practiced the CFAP talent cultivation philosophy, built "professional chains" on "industrial chains," continuously deepened industry-education integration, and effectively demonstrated its educational dynamism. Among the 2025 graduates, many have joined enterprises and institutes under the Geely Holding Group, such as Geely Automobile Research Institute (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. and Hunan Geely Auto Parts Co., Ltd., as well as other enterprises in the automotive industry. Twenty-two students have founded their own companies. Six have been admitted to renowned overseas universities such as the National University of Singapore. Over 100 have been admitted to master's programs at "Double First-Class" universities including Hunan University, and many have been recruited as “Selected Graduates” or “Civil servants”, enlisted into the military, or joined the "College Student Volunteer Service Western Plan".

Professor Yuan Libin, President of Xiangtan Institute of Technology, delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony. He urged the Class of 2025 to pursue lifelong learning, diligent practice, and eternal gratitude, contributing their youthful strength to drive forward the construction of a powerful country and national rejuvenation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. He suggested that graduates approach their careers with a positive and optimistic mindset, simultaneously continue to hone their marketing skills and brand thinking, and maintain eternal gratitude to the Party, the country, and the great era. He wished all graduates a brilliant future, thriving careers, and happy families.

On that day, as in previous years, Yuan Libin spent over five hours personally conferring degrees on all graduates, turning their tassels, interacting with them, and taking photos, sending them off with heartfelt wishes through this "zero-distance" expression of deep care. 

Xiangtan Institute of Technology is located at the central node of the Xiangjiang Science City and the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan West Bank Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.It is the first independent undergraduate institution in Hunan Province approved by the Ministry of Education to complete the transformation from a branch college to an independent college. It is also a collaborative training unit with the Geely Postdoctoral Research Workstation under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. It currently has over 14,000 students. The school actively responds to Hunan Province's strategic deployment of advancing the "Double Optimization" of higher education, adapts to the requirements of the development of new quality productive forces. Currently the school has six secondary colleges: the School of Automotive and Energy Engineering , the School of Intelligent Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the School of Literature and Creative Arts, the School of Digital Business and Law, and the School of Digital Intelligence Management, as well as two public teaching colleges: the School of Marxism and the School of Education. Its professional settings fully align with Hunan Province's "4×4" modern industrial system, actively serving the beautiful blueprint of "three high-techs, four new missions."
