On the afternoon of November 1, the event "See the World in Full" —Geely 40th Anniversary Cultural Seminar& Launch of  the Global Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Center—was held in the lecture hall of the Library at Xiangtan Institute of Technology. Yang Xueliang, Vice President of Geely Holding Group, and Wei Mei, former  Vice President of Geely Holding Group and Vice President of Xiangtan Institute of Technology, attended the event. And they jointly unveiled the Global Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Center and engaged in face-to-face exchanges with teachers and students. Yuan Libin, President of Xiangtan Institute of Technology, presided over the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 400 participants, including section-level and above cadres of the school, all faculty members of the Business School, and student representatives, attended the activity.

In 2026, Geely marks its 40th anniversary of founding. Four decades ago, Geely started its business in Taizhou, Zhejiang Provinve.Through arduous exploration,it has grown into a leading enterprise in China's automotive industry and a Fortune Global 500 company, embarking on a path of practical entrepreneurship and innovative development for private enterprises. The theme of Chairman Li Shufu's New Year Address in 2026 is "Anchoring Value, Forging Ahead with Unwavering Resolve". This cultural seminar and unveiling event at Xiangtan Institute of Technology, a subsidiary of Geely, serves as an extension of this "critical moment" in the fields of industry-education integration and collaborative talent cultivation.

In his address, Yuan Libin reviewed Geely's entrepreneurial journey. He stated that Geely's 40 years of development have benefited not only from the opportunities presented by the era of China's reform and opening-up, but more importantly, from the entrepreneurial spirit of successive generations of Geely employees, who have held themselves to high standards and worked diligently through hardship. He noted that Xiangtan Institute of Technology was born with Geely and has flourished alongside its industrial ecosystem; the integration of industry and education is the school's most distinctive feature and its core competitive advantage. Drawing on Chairman Li Shufu's educational philosophy that "entering the campus is intended to enable a better transition into society," he emphasized that education must not be conducted in isolation; it must engage with society and be oriented toward practical application, enabling students to develop their skills in real-world scenarios. He expressed the hope that, with the establishment of the Global Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Center as an opportunity, the school could transform the dynamic case studies from Geely's global expansion into teaching resources and research topics, thereby deepening and substantiating the collaborative education between the shcool and enterprises.

Amid enthusiastic applause, Yang Xueliang, Vice President, and Wei Mei, Vice President, unveiled the plaque for the Geely–Xiangtan Institute of Technology's "Global Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Center."

The establishment of the Research Center represents another significant achievement in Xiangtan Institute of Technology's and Geely's efforts to deepen the integration of industry and education and to collaborate in talent development. Drawing on the concrete practices of Geely's global expansion, the Center will focus on typical cases and cutting-edge issues in the development of global enterprises; study the opportunities and challenges encountered by enterprises in international operations, cross-cultural management, and sustainable development; establish a new platform for the school's disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and scientific research; and also provide intellectual support for Geely to accelerate the building of a global enterprise and achieve sustainable development. Wei Mei serves as the director of the Global Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Center.

This event is both a vivid lesson in corporate culture and a profound practice of industry-education integration. Taking the 40th anniversary of Geely's founding as a new starting point, Xiangtan Institute of Technology will join hands with Geely to build and develop the Global Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Center well, thereby making greater contributions to serving the high-quality development of enterprises and supporting China's automotive industry in its global expansion.
