On the afternoon of April 11th, Xiangtan Institute of Technology held the 2023 Tangzhou Academy "Spring Plowing Activity" initiation ceremony at the Happy Farm. Ms. Xu Mei, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee and Vice Dean of Tangzhou Academy, presided over the initiation ceremony, attended by student representatives from Tangzhou Academy and all counselors.

At the ceremony, the melodious song "On the Fields of Hope," performed by Professor Cheng Bozizhu, echoed over the farm. The pleasant singing, applause, and the figures of labor created scenes full of hope, making the atmosphere lively. Yu Kunhuan, a student representative from the Agricultural Management Committee and Software 2202 class, elaborated on the significance and value of labor from three perspectives: "practitioner" of farming activities, "leader" in agricultural labor, and "preserver" of agricultural culture. He urged students to conscientiously perform each labor task, actively transmit the farming knowledge learned to fellow students, and cultivate good labor habits and qualities through hands-on practice and willpower training.

Accompanied by the planting of seedlings in spring, the joy of sowing and the responsibility of nurturing took root. Ms. Xu Mei awarded outstanding workers of the Rapeseed Flower Festival and officially announced the initiation of the 2023 Tangzhou Academy "Spring Plowing Activity." She pointed out that holding the spring plowing ceremony carries three meanings: firstly, it represents the school's emphasis on the farm, where farm labor not only yields fruits and vegetables but also nurtures students' spirits of loving and esteeming labor; secondly, it serves as a call to encourage more students to participate in farm work by following a group of students passionate about labor, allowing everyone to enjoy the joy and significance of labor together; thirdly, it hopes that students will take up the responsibility of caring for crops, such as seedling cultivation, daily watering, fertilization, and other duties, allowing the seedlings they plant to grow robustly.

Zhang Runtao, a student from the Exhibition Economy and Management 2201 class, who served as the production team leader for the Rapeseed Flower Festival, expressed a deeper understanding of spring plowing culture through the process of participating in the festival with fellow students. In his view, spring plowing culture is a folk culture formed by farmers in long-term agricultural production. He believes that university students participating in spring plowing can better understand the value and significance of spring plowing culture, cultivating good virtues of loving labor and establishing an exploratory consciousness through hands-on practice and willpower training.

Chen Qianting, a student from the Exhibition Economy and Management 2201 class, who served as the leader of the sales team in the Rapeseed Flower Festival, was awarded the "Excellent Creative Team - Sales Team" certificate at the Spring Plowing initiation ceremony for her outstanding performance. She explained that in the design and planning of the sales event, team members seize the buyers' desire to purchase, coordinate the interests of sellers, and showcase the charm of the sales event from multiple perspectives, such as the layout of the sales venue and the diversification of product elements. She believes that spring plowing is beneficial for the school to construct a comprehensive education system of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor development. Furthermore, witnessing the growth of vegetables they personally planted and helping fellow students discover themselves through practice and creating their lives with their own hands is of extraordinary significance.

The annual farm activities at Xiangtan Institute of Technology not only deeply implement the school's CFAP talent cultivation philosophy but also demonstrate the distinctive features of the school's labor education, reflecting the school's high emphasis on the holistic development of students.
