Volunteers successfully completed the final peak of service. On the evening of October 30th, 30 volunteers from Xiangtan University of Technology, who provided transportation support for the Asian Para Games, completed their 52-day volunteer service and safely returned to the school. Their transportation support work during the Asian Games and Asian Para Games had the earliest start time, the widest service scope, the greatest demand fluctuations, and the latest end time among all support work. However, they truly achieved zero accidents, zero complaints, and zero delays. As the only university student volunteer service team in Hunan Province, the spirit of "enduring hardship, being proactive, and being patient" was reflected in their bright smiles. Their thoughtful service, meticulous guidance, and excellent communication received praise from all sides. The Asian Para Games Transportation Support Center remarked, 'They have a sparkle in their eyes!'
On September 9th, upon arriving in Hangzhou, the Xiangli volunteer team immediately began to understand their duties at the actual work site, learned about passenger car dispatch knowledge, and repeatedly simulated work processes. After gaining a clear understanding of the vehicle needs and operating rules during the Asian Games, Zhang Weizhen, a student majoring in Accounting in the class of 2024, expressed, 'This volunteer service is not only about traffic dispatch but also like an artistic interpretation of urban details.' Her thoughts were validated during the work. During the Asian Para Games, volunteers needed to assist the traffic information service desk in handling orders, receive vehicle matching information from the online dispatch center, coordinate with passengers, guide passengers onto the vehicles, and coordinate with drivers to achieve the purpose of driver-passenger meetings for each order. Every operation, communication, and coordination required meticulous attention to detail and precision to bring the volunteer service into practice.
Late on September 17th, due to personnel adjustments at the Asian Para Games Transportation Support Center, all shifts of the Xiangli volunteer team were uniformly adjusted, and they had to start the new shifts early the next day. Upon receiving the news, the student union immediately urged mobilization, roommates reminded each other, and in the group, they confirmed the notifications one by one. Early the next day, all students arrived on time at the new service points, energetically welcoming the challenge. Throughout the Asian Para Games, they worked in two shifts for 20 consecutive days, starting at 7 am for the morning shift and finishing at 10 pm for the evening shift. Students at the service point in the Asian Games Village had to wake up at 5:30 am, take three subway transfers, and walk for more than 20 minutes to arrive at the work site on time, just in time for the various competitions starting in the morning for the athletes. After finishing work at 10 pm, they often returned to the dormitory around 11 pm or 12 am. One evening, when Volunteer Leader Kong Jing accompanied the students to visit OCA Grand Hotel, Supervisor Xu from Hangzhou Transportation Bureau held the teacher's hand and expressed his affirmation and liking for the Xiangli volunteer team in the most simple and sincere language. After the service, he gave each student of the Xiangli volunteer team a bracelet and a ceramic cup.

Initially, the supervisor had some concerns, but later, Supervisor Xu from Hangzhou Transportation Bureau held the teacher's hand and expressed his affirmation and liking for the Xiangli volunteer team in the most simple and sincere language. After the service, he gave each student of the Xiangli volunteer team a bracelet and a ceramic cup. During the Asian Para Games, a technical official from Taekwondo (BinJamal Mohamed) came to the traffic service desk to inquire about obtaining a mobile SIM card but learned that the SIM card service had ended the previous day, and he was very anxious. Fan Wenlin immediately contacted the staff of the mobile company, coordinated the card issuance time for the guest, and successfully completed the card issuance process. The guest wrote a thank-you letter by hand and took a photo with Fan Wenlin. After the closing ceremony of the Asian Para Games, Geely Group held a celebration banquet. When the leaders of the Asian Para Games Transportation Support Center saw the Xiangli volunteers, their faces were full of smiles. 'The volunteers from Xiangli are excellent; they have a sparkle in their eyes!' Geely Group exclaimed, 'The kids from Xiangtan!'
"Among many information service desks, Geely Group's offline dispatch traffic is the small window for each service desk. The volunteer team implemented the Xiangli school motto, striving to achieve 'integration of knowledge and action, excellence in refinement.' Starting from the details, they worked hard to achieve 'excellence in all things, aspiring to perfection.' 'Xiangli students, after learning the operation process at the service desk once, can independently complete a series of actions such as online ordering, notifying orders, contacting drivers, etc. They are efficient and accurate and can familiarize themselves with bus stops outside the village and prepare English guidance scripts. When guests need help, they are the first to step forward to answer questions.' Although the volunteers are at the forefront of traffic services, their work is not limited to vehicle dispatch. They warmheartedly solve various problems: printing materials, checking routes, arranging itineraries, etc. The supervisor in the technical officer village, upon learning that the volunteer team would continue to serve during the Asian Para Games, immediately told Geely Group's leaders, 'I hope the students from Xiangtan can continue to stay in my team during the Asian Para Games.' Geely Group's Asian Para Games Transportation Support Chief Commander Ji Hongtao praised, 'Xiangli volunteers exceeded our expectations. Your performance makes us feel that it was the right decision to bring you here from far away!' In the allocation of positions during the Asian Para Games, due to outstanding performance, 13 students successfully entered the comprehensive office of the Asian Para Games Transportation Support, assisting in tasks such as data statistics, complaint handling, publicity, warehouse management, and accommodation and catering coordination. They learned many office skills from Geely's outstanding workplace employees, such as Zhang Weizhen from the class of 2024, who wrote weekly reports in graphic form, and Zeng Qiansui from the same class, who explored more convenient ways to handle meal distribution during practice.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Kang Ziliang wrote in his diary, "Suddenly heard that leaders such as Ji Zong and Chen Zong from Geely Group visited, inquiring about our well-being. Experiencing such care in this foreign place, we are not only pleasantly surprised but also deeply moved." In addition, Geely Group went out of its way to secure tickets for Xiangli students to attend the Asian Games, meticulously arranged visits to the group's experience center, provided venues for team-building activities, and offered various small gifts such as Asian Games authorized merchandise, the mascot Feifei, warm jackets, insulated cups, etc.
Liu Rongrong, sharing daily details of her interactions, expressed a strong desire to join the Geely family after graduation. At the celebratory banquet organized by Geely Group after the volunteer service, she carefully prepared a paper resume and asked Professor Kong Jing to help deliver it to Chen Lei, the head of Geely Group. She noted, "Geely Group's top executives are not as stern and formal as the stereotypical big shots; they are more approachable and humorous."
Regarding the service provided by the volunteer group, Li Shuting, a member stationed at the Asian Games, mentioned, "Our team received more than 120 badges in total, and 30 people managed to collect badges from 42 countries participating in the Asian Games." The volunteers served a diverse clientele, and their numbers were significant.
To maintain a balance between attentiveness and relaxation during service, Professor Kong Jing, using human resource management methods, collaborated with Xu Qing, a student from the Exhibition Department, to establish a team points system. This included daily debriefings, punctuality, location check-ins for overnight stays, bonus points for recognized service, and sharing photos in the material-sharing group.
Continual optimization of services and volunteers' commitment to excellence led to positive feedback from guests. The volunteers received over 40 letters of commendation, recognizing their service attitude and quality. In addition to commendation letters, the volunteer group received a variety of gifts.
On October 22, Wang Feihuang, stationed at the Paralympic Games, received warm gifts from Hong Kong athletes. Despite facing difficulties in maneuvering his wheelchair, an athlete changed its direction and repeatedly pulled out items from his bag, including an Indonesian eagle badge. He smiled and nodded towards the volunteers, offering them items like a Japanese towel, opening ceremony raincoat, and masks, expressing gratitude without words.
In the memory of Liu Rongrong, an accounting student from 2024, Japanese athletes were friendly and polite. They brought snacks and badges for volunteers during their second encounter and, after being invited to a dinner, brought food for the volunteers who were still on duty. The volunteers also assisted them with many daily life issues, radiating a subtle light of kindness at their volunteer posts.
Witnessing the raising of the Chinese flag and the playing of the national anthem during the closing ceremony of the Asian Games, Feng Yuxin said, "It turns out that when individuals merge into a group, it will gather into such a vibrant 'force.' This cohesion inspires me deeply." She added, "As volunteers, we not only provide services but also convey love and warmth. When I present my best self to others, I also gain satisfaction and joy from it."
