In order to implement our university's CFAP educational concept, allowing students to broaden their horizons, enhance their cross-cultural management abilities and comprehensive qualities, our university has decided to select outstanding students to participate in short-term study tours to the University of Macau this summer. Interested students, please contact your class teacher or the Student Affairs Office as soon as possible!

School Introduction

The University of Macau (UM) is a public, international, comprehensive research university located in Macau, China. It is a founding member of the Sino-European Business School Alliance, the Belt and Road International Science Organization Alliance, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Western Bank Science and Innovation and Talent Development Cooperation Alliance, and the Asia-Pacific University College Alliance. The Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau is accredited by AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS.

The University of Macau, formerly known as East Asia University founded on March 28, 1981, became a public institution in 1991 and was renamed the University of Macau. The University of Macau is ranked 193rd in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 33rd in the Asian University Rankings, 254th in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, and 26th in the Global Young University Rankings.

Project Introduction

1. Artificial Intelligence and Big Data (July 14-20, for students of the College of Mathematics and Statistics)

2. Business Communication and Leadership (July 21-27, open to students from all colleges)

Project Format

Includes lectures by professors from the University of Macau, cultural visits, teacher-student exchanges, and project completion presentations, etc.

Registration Objectives and Time

1. Open to enrolled students of the 2021 and 2022 cohorts.

2. Register through the Student Affairs Office of your respective college and fill out the application form.

3. Registration period: From now until May 6, 2024.

Selection Requirements

This sponsorship is divided into Category A (Learning Innovation) and Category B (Comprehensive Quality), and relevant departments organized by the Student Affairs Office and the Academic Affairs Office will conduct classification audits and recommendations. The specific selection criteria are as follows:

Category A (Learning Innovation)

Students who ranked in the top 5% of their year and major in the 2023 academic year, have strong innovation and entrepreneurship awareness and abilities, actively participate in various provincial and above-level innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and achieve excellent results, and priority consideration will be given to those who have received commendations from provincial-level and above authorities.

Category B (Comprehensive Quality)

Recipients of National Inspirational Scholarships, with outstanding comprehensive performance, actively involved in voluntary services and public welfare undertakings, with an annual cumulative volunteer service duration of 120 hours or more, and priority consideration will be given to those with outstanding honors and touching stories.

Those with special talents in sports, having significant influence and playing a good role model, who have won championships in provincial or university sports events, served as key members, or demonstrated outstanding skills, will be given priority consideration.

Those with artistic or literary talents, actively promoting the development of our school's literary and artistic career, achieving outstanding results in various artistic and literary performances or competitions at or above our university level, and possessing special talents will be given priority.

Those who love labor, actively participate in labor both inside and outside our university, have good habits of labor hygiene, perform outstandingly in labor studies and practices, and have touching stories or special labor skills will be given priority.

Selection Process

1. Voluntary application by students: Students fill out the "Xiangtan Institute of Technology Summer 2024 Study Tour Project Sponsorship Application Form" and submit it to the Student Affairs Office of their respective colleges by May 6.

2. Second-level colleges review and recommend, and submit them to the Student Aid Center of the Student Affairs Office by May 7.

3. Comprehensive interviews (before May 10): Students will be selected by expert judges through English self-introduction, talent displays, and defense, and the sponsored study tour members will be announced publicly.
