Introduction to Thinker Debate Society

1、 Club Introduction

Company name: Thinker Debate Society

Meaning: Debate is a clash of ideas, and the debaters are all people with intellectual power. The sculpture of the thinker symbolizes that we stand firm and will not fall.

This was specially proposed by Professor Deng Jie, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Yangzhou University, during his personal visit to guide the debate club of Xiangtan University of Technology. He hopes that students at Xiangtan University of Technology will have ideas, connotations, and foresight. Mr. Tang Mu said, "When I was young, I wanted to travel more roads, read more books, and meet more people."

I hope every friend of Xiangtan University of Technology can come to our Thinker Debate Society, meet many precious people in life, grow together with the Debate Society, and your life path will be more brilliant! Walking alongside thoughtful people, you deserve it.

Club structure: Office, External Relations Department, Finance Department, Propaganda Department, Organization Department.

Personnel composition: There are currently 109 formal personnel, and a large-scale layoff will be carried out in the sophomore year, leaving behind some outstanding talents who can engage in debate and enjoy it.

2、 Club activities

Inviting Professors Deng Jie and Xu Bangyi from Yangzhou University to explain debate related knowledge to members of our society. Through their profound explanations, we understand that the core of debate is persuasion, communication, and expressing our own opinions, rather than meaningless disputes and arguments. Debate is an art of language. Although language communication is not uncommon in daily life, it is only in the debate arena, Only then can you truly experience the profound clash of ideas and feel the pleasure brought by the collision of ideas.
